One of my favorite Sunday morning treats is reading Tom Stienstra’s Outdoors column in the Sporting Green section of the San Francisco Chronicle. I’m hardly an outdoorsy type – but I certainly do enjoy great writing and reporting and Tom’s one of the best! Turns out he was just awarded first place in the nation for best outdoor column/essay of the year at the annual conference for the Outdoor Writers Association of America, among other awards.
