New Header Graphic – Alpine Pond at Skyline Ridge

I updated the header graphic today on my blog – it should serve us well for 2009 (if you like blue like I do)!

Our last header graphic update was exactly 1 year ago today – of the Parker Cottage on the Kona Coast of Hawaii. We were on a family vacation in Hawaii at the time – and I was musing on the signal vs. noise problem in life. This year, we’ll be at home as the old year passes – waving 2008 good bye (good riddens?!) and welcoming in 2009!

Today’s update uses a photo taken at Alpine Pond at Skyline Ridge on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 11:30 AM using my Canon 40D Digital SLR and a Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8 Zoom lens. The photo was shot at ISO 400, 1/200th of a second at f/18. Here’s the full size original photo. It was a crystal clear, blue sky morning with warm sun – even in late October. Perfect for a walk! More pictures from my Alpine Pond walk are available on my Flickr site or by viewing the slideshow below:

The trail around Alpine Pond is a gentle, one-mile walk in the Peninsula hills just off Skyline Boulevard where it crosses Page Mill Road/Alpine Road. More details are available on the Midpenisula Open Space District’s Skyline Ridge page.

Note: You can see all of the historical header graphics we’ve used on this blog on this page.
