United Airlines opts off the broadbandwagon

The AP and Seattle Times report that United Airlines will be announcing tomorrow an upgrade to its on-board Airfone service rather than opting to install Boeing’s new high speed Internet service called Connexion.

Wow, this feels like a bad decision — sorta like saying come fly with us — we’ve got 28.8K dialup service on-board, analog modem jacks in our phones, etc.! Reminds me of hotels in the early 1990’s! Guess that’s all a bankrupt airline can afford?
