iPayment Completes Initial Public Offering

“iPayment” (NASDAQ: IPMT) completed its initial public offering today. iPayment’s IPO was the first US IPO in two months. TheStreet.com reports that the offering almost didn’t happen:

The pricing caps a harrowing four days for both iPayment, Bear Stearns and the entire initial-offering market. All three were hurt when the deal was nearly scuttled Friday after it came to light that a Bear Stearns analyst appeared in a promotional film praising the company and stock.

The shares were priced at $16.00 and ended today’s trading at $21.00 — resulting in a market capitalization of just shy of $300 million. The company’s SEC filings are available online at the SEC’s website.
