Is investing a mystery?

In today’s New York Times, Edward Wyatt reviews Robert Hagstrom’s new book “The Detective and the Investor: Uncovering Investment Techniques From the Legendary Sleuths“.

It’s a lot of fun ˜ more fun, frankly, than any investment book this reader can recall, and full of enough decent investment reminders to make it worthwhile.

Those well versed in the detective genre might find it pedestrian, but readers who haven’t picked up a mystery novel since the Hardy Boys are likely to find the book a delightful return to the thrill of the chase. Get your gumshoes on.

His publisher, Texere, has the first chapter online. There’s also an interview with Hagstrom done in December online. I really enjoyed one of Hagstrom’s earlier books: “The Warren Buffett Way“.
