Seattle Times: Here’s Portland: lively, family-friendly and walkable to boot

Terry Taziloi reports on Portland, Oregon — one of my all-time favorite cities.

Join us in Portland’s “living room,” soaking up some lovely, warm fall sun, munching on a huge burrito at the lunch hour and watching a man who has been telling us about the Lord being supplanted by a group of tree people led by a guitar player, a banjo player and woman who actually looked like a tree.

Brian Cantwell writes of “Trendy-Third Avenue”, Portland’s NW 23rd Avenue, home to a delightful neighborhood of shops and restaurants. He includes recommendations on places to stay and play in northwest Portland.
