Pequot Ventures has invested $4 MM in this new startup founded by the founders of Bowstreet and the former chief technology officer at CNA.

Because XML is viral, variant and highly interdependent, it’s difficult for businesses to optimize XML to increase revenue, boost return on assets (business processes), and improve the online customer experience. In other words, XML is affecting what Swingtide calls “Quality of Business.”

The need to optimize Quality of Business (QoB) is creating the need for a new management approach, “Logical Network Management(TM),” which enables businesses to intelligently manage complex networks of XML, just as they have managed their physical networks — servers, routers, and so on — to achieve Quality of Service (QoS). Swingtide’s first products will be available later this year.
