WSJ: VC economics

The prevailing wisdom in the industry is that before the dot-com meltdown is finished as many as 50% of today’s 760 or so venture-capital firms may disappear. “I think you could see a cut in half pretty easily,” said Tracy Lefteroff, global managing partner PricewaterhouseCoopers’ venture practice.
