My Conversational Brilliance

I love this reminder from Russ Roberts in his book Wild Problems:

Instead of savoring your conversational brilliance, savor the experience of interacting with another human being. See what happens without expectation during that encounter and without a plan to steer it in particular directions. Give your conversational partner your fullest attention without thinking of what you’re going to say next.

Now if only I could remember it’s not about my conversational brilliance!
