The New York Times Travel section has a good article by Vanessa Gregory about the Dogpatch neighborhood in San Francisco – an area I’ve driven through many times but never stopped to explore.
Buoyed by a city historic district designation in 2003 and a light-rail line (the Muni T line) that began two years ago, Dogpatch seems to have reached a revivalist critical mass.
There’s also a link to the San Francisco City Guides web site – offering a wealth of walking tours of various places in San Francisco. Quite a resource – that I wasn’t aware of. Might have to try out participating in a few of these with my trusty camera in hand!
