Shameful

Somebody had to say it – even better that it was the President.

And when I saw an article today indicating that Wall Street bankers had given themselves $20 billion worth of bonuses — the same amount of bonuses as they gave themselves in 2004 — at a time when most of these institutions were teetering on collapse and they are asking for taxpayers to help sustain them, and when taxpayers find themselves in the difficult position that if they don’t provide help that the entire system could come down on top of our heads — that is the height of irresponsibility. It is shameful.

Hey guys and gals, get a clue!

Yes, I almost leapt for joy when Obama said that…and with some amount of controlled anger. Go get ’em!
However, I am livid on this “Stimulus Package”, which is basically a big government pork bill to expand government. For example, they originally had almost half a BILLION bucks to buy condoms…which when real people found out about they were forced to take it out!!! Only 3 percent is going for what it is advertised for, building the national infrastructure, etc.

Don,
I’m also holding my nose on the stimulus bill.
Frankly, I was very disappointed that Nancy Pelosi drove it through the House in her typical partisan style yesterday. She’s quite tone-deaf it appears.

It’s not exactly news that Wall Street bankers are shameless.
A more practical question – what are they going to do about it? How are Merrill Lynch’s kleptocrats going to be forced to disgorge their $4 billion in underserved (and ultimately taxpayer-funded) bonuses?
