Don Park has a great idea for what to do with the shell of San Francisco’s late great afternoon newspaper, the Examiner.
Which reminds me, with the Examiner’s transition to free distribution, they’re following the successful model of the Palo Alto Daily News which has been distributing free, advertiser supported daily newspapers in the Palo Alto/Menlo Park area for the last several years. The Daily News web site seems to illustrate their lack of understanding of the power of the web — and could be equally fertile ground for Silicon Valley webloggers if the Daily News got behind the idea.
