Living Costs

“Dave Winer” notes what just one of his prescription drugs would cost if he didn’t have health insurance.

Today, I managed to rip-up the lower front bumper on my car by pulling into a parking space and catching the bumper on the curb. When I backed out, I heard an ugly sounding crunch — the plastic lower section of the front bumper had gotten hung up on the curb and broke into pieces. The estimate to repair: almost $2,000. Jeez. What ever happened to those nice solid chrome bumpers that were impervious to damage?
