Lou Gerstner’s – Who Says Elephants Can’t Dance?

Former IBM CEO Lou Gerstner’s new book on the turnaround at IBM was published yesterday.

It’s an amazing story — one of the best business books I’ve ever read. I read my copy through last night and then gave it away to a colleague (another ex-IBM’er) today. Stopped by the local bookstore on my way home and bought myself another copy tonight. The book is number 1 on Amazon tonight, by the way.

Not sure if this book will have the same impact it did on me for those who never worked for IBM. I spent 17 years of my early career with IBM — and it’s very hard to take the IBM out of folks like me. Phrases like “national treasure” really ring true.

At points in this book, I just wanted to cry, it’s that good. Gerstner’s series of post 9/11 emails to IBM’ers are especially important — but there’s so much more. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
