SF Chronicle: Summer lull or slowdown?

Kelly Zito reports in this morning’s San Francisco Chronicle about the recent slowdown in the San Francisco Bay Area real estate market.

In the Bay Area, demand for residential real estate has cooled in recent weeks, many local agents say, after a white-hot spring that drew comparison to the go-go dot-com days.

In a good economy, most would chalk it up to summer vacations and the Labor Day holiday. But in light of the floundering economy, some experts say this dip in demand may signal a softening in the one area of the economy that has continued to shine in an otherwise bleak year.
