While heading home this afternoon, I stopped for some supplies at Roberts Market in Woodside and then headed south on Mountain Home.
Larry Ellison’s big estate is out the driver’s side window along that short stretch of road — and I could the Japanese cherry trees in bloom around his estate – beautiful, especially in the afternoon’s misty rain.
It’s been a while since I’ve traveled that particular stretch — but I was surprised at the number of For Sale signs along the road in that 3-4 mile section of expensive Woodside real estate. Subjectively, seems like high-end property in Woodside might not be selling quite as quickly as in the recent past.
Happy New Year 2005!
Upon reflection, it’s been a very good year for us personally…we’re healthy, happy, and enjoying life and work. But it’s hard to imagine a more difficult year (2001 comes closest recently, of course) for the world at large. Somehow the tears of rain on the lens of that webcam image struck me as poignantly appropriate.
