Hotel Rwanda
I’d like to add to the already extensive praise for the amazing movie Hotel Rwanda and the inspired performance of actor Don Cheadle.
As someone who had very little understanding of the genocide that took place over just a few weeks about ten years ago, Hotel Rwanda provided a new spotlight into that darkness of understanding. Cheadle’s performance was just superb. You have to see it — you’ll never forget it.
Chris Honeysett
One of my favorite local photographers, Chris Honeysett, is hosting his 12th annual holiday reception next weekend at Fort Mason in San Francisco.
The Incredibles
Don Park went to see The Incredibles with his family yesterday — and so did we. In fact, I also saw Scoble out front on his cell phone as we were rushing in to grab our seats. He’s everywhere!
Like Don, we enjoyed the movie a lot. I thought it was a bit slow right after all of the early action as the story line was getting set up but then it took off like a rocket, if you know what I mean! Kottke liked it too!

The photos at My Myopia continue to impress!
Took a couple of hours this afternoon to go see Miracle. Wow, what a performance by Kurt Russell and the rest of cast. Simply superb. Most highly recommended. PS: There’s a good interview of Kurt Russell available.
Fog of War
Enjoyed seeing the movie The Fog of War this afternoon. Actually, enjoy isn’t the right word — I more learned from the movie while enjoying it. The film is 85-year old a look back by Robert S. McNamara at many periods in his life — with the last third devoted to his thoughts on the Vietnam war during which he was US Secretary of Defense. The movie flows through eleven lessons that McNamara wants us to understand — each a vignette on the particular lesson theme. Recommended.
