Pentagon Puts Cyberwarriors on the Offensive, Increasing the Risk of Conflict

“The chief risk is that the internet becomes a battleground of all-against-all, as nations not only place “implants” in the networks of their adversaries — something the United States, China, Russia, Iran and North Korea have done with varying levels of sophistication — but also begin to engage in daily attack and counterattack.”

Scott, While the article is interesting, and sort of scary, I think it is useful to note where it comes from…

“This article is adapted from “The Perfect Weapon: War, Sabotage and Fear in the Cyber Age,” to be published on Tuesday by Crown, an imprint of Penguin Random House”

It would be wise to not take everything in the article as truth. I am sure some of what is described “may” be truth, but I don’t see any benefit in getting worked up over something written for publication to make money. Maybe I am putting my head in the sand, but I believe and hope that my government is looking out for my interests.
