Amazon.com is out with a press release this morning announcing a new initiative called “Frustration-Free Packaging“. From the announcement page on the Amazon web site:
Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging, a multi-year initiative designed to alleviate “wrap rage,” features recyclable boxes that are easy to open and free of excess materials such as hard plastic clamshell cases, plastic bindings, and wire ties. The product itself is exactly the same—we’ve just streamlined the packaging.
Please send us your photos or videos demonstrating how frustrating packaging can be. We’ll feature our favorite submissions at http://www.amazon.com/frustration.
Makes total sense – in the ecommerce environment where deterring shoplifters is a non-issue, why package products in those impossible to open plastic bubbles? An much better for the environment as well. More here.
