Boston’s North End

I used to live on Sheafe Street in Boston‘s North End, a stone’s throw away from the Fleet Center (ironically named for a bank that is no more!) and just around the corner from Old North Church. When I lived there, it was called the Boston Garden — closed in 1995 when the Fleet Center opened right next door.

The Fleet Center is where the upcoming Democratic National Convention is going to be held. Sure hope that the security arrangements for the convention can be handled delicately enough to not affect that wonderful North End neighborhood — and that the webloggers covering the convention can enjoy some of that great North End Italian dining while they’re just around the corner!
