New York Times: United Airlines — the incredible shrinking airline

Edward Wong reports on the latest United Airlines cutbacks.

I used to be a very loyal United flyer. But, frankly, the United Shuttle did me in. I hated the Shuttle flights — United’s 737’s had the tightest seat spacing in the industry. It was stupid. I’m a big guy (6’3″) and legroom matters a lot. United thought they were competing with Southwest and had to tighten things up — but Southwest was much more comfortable!

United is the major carrier out of San Francisco — so I hate to see these cutbacks. A colleague of mine based near Medford, Oregon was affected directly by today’s United cutbacks.

If you’re trying to choose a place to locate your business, let me suggest you think about the jetBlue cities! As United fades, jetBlue succeeds.
