San Jose Business Journal: How low can it go?

Sharon Simonson reports on the purchase of Inktomi’s HQ building at a price that was less than half of what Inktomi paid for it just six months earlier.

Walton Street Capital LLC, which invests in real estate on behalf of pension funds, insurance companies and other private equity, paid $41.6 million, or just under $160 a square foot, for the property, according to public records. Inktomi bought the same 260,000-square-foot development for $437 a square foot, or $114 million, in August.
