Canon EOS 5D Mark II – Low Light Performance @ ISO 6400

5dmark2.jpgTonight I took another look at one of my Rick Steves’ photographs from his talk on Iran this past Monday evening.

This particular photo was shot using my new Canon EOS 5D Mark II with the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens
at 200mm, f/2.8, 1/640th of a sec at ISO 6400. Post-processed (minor plus cropping) in Adobe Lightroom 2.3RC.

What I find pretty amazing is the relative lack of noise in the photo at this very high ISO 6400 setting! Pretty stunning performance if you ask me!
