Gas sales dropped 6.1 percent in California during the third quarter of 2008 compared with the same three months of 2007, the state Board of Equalization reported.“You put it all together, and I think long-term we’ve seen a peaking of gasoline sales,” said Daniel Sperling, head of the UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies.
